You have decided that you would like to have a celebrant for your wedding ceremony or vow renewal ceremony, but how do you choose the right person for the job?
The volume of information available from directories, websites, Facebook, and other types of social media is vast. How do you whittle the choice down?
The truly outstanding celebrant led ceremonies happen when the couple and their celebrant have really “clicked” and got onto the same wavelength during the planning.
So perhaps the first thing to think about is personality – your individual personalities and your outlook on life as a couple. What do you enjoy? What makes you tick? What makes you laugh? What don’t you like? Does the type of ceremony you have in mind say something about your personalities? Of course, it isn’t an exact science but thinking about these things might help you focus on the type of celebrant you think would work best with you. You may decide you want someone who is a Boho and a bit quirky for your woodland wedding. Or, you want someone who will fit the bill for a more formal ceremony in a country house.
Once you have some direction start looking at the information available about the celebrants in your area. Make a short list of the ones that interest you the most. You will probably visit lots of venues before you decide which works best for you. Apply the same principle to choosing your celebrant. Next see if you can have a no obligation chat with those on your shortlist. Many celebrants are happy to do this. Use your chat to assess whether you think “the fit” would be right.
If you want to contact me for a no obligation chat I would be delighted to speak to you about your plans.
